Frontend Engineer (UI/UX Focus)

Your mission

Develop responsive, mobile-compatible visuals for lifestyle reports, web apps, and internal dashboards.
Translate Figma designs and scientific content into clean, performant, and maintainable front-end code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Bootstrap.
Design and prototype visual drafts in Figma (or similar tools) when needed, especially for dashboards and interactive reports.
Add animations, transitions, and interactive effects that enhance the overall user experience.
Ensure smooth performance and usability across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
Collaborate with backend developers and scientists to ensure technical feasibility and accurate data representation.
Integrate frontend components into a Python-based backend environment using Jinja2 templates and Bash scripts.
Contribute to the development of our design language and improve UX/UI consistency across platforms.

From Design to Code Expertise

You are able to translate design concepts into functional solutions. You create high-quality visuals in Figma, convert them into clean HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and seamlessly integrate them into Jinja templates for Python applications.

Perfection in Detail

You have a trained eye for typography, layout, spacing, and proportions. Inconsistencies in fonts, spacing, or alignment don’t escape you—they genuinely bother you—and you bring every interface into visual harmony, both on desktop and mobile.

Confident Use of AI Tools

You use AI as an efficient assistant to quickly generate prototypes, adapt them to specific needs, and then refine them by hand to production quality. You know how to guide AI effectively instead of being dependent on it.

Confidence Under Observation

You can demonstrate your skills even under pressure, for example in a 30-minute skill review in front of multiple people. In doing so, you also show your solution-oriented mindset—and that AI is a tool for you, not a crutch.

Strong Debugging and Problem-Solving Skills

When faced with alignment or overlap bugs, you immediately see the possible causes, mentally run through different solutions, and efficiently verify the root cause. With your experience, you know the many pitfalls and approach debugging in a systematic way.

Technical Skills & Background

Expert-level HTML and CSS, including responsive layouts, accessibility, and pixel-perfect implementation.
Solid working knowledge of JavaScript (confident in usage, though not necessarily advanced).
Experience with PHP in templated environments.
Proficiency with Bootstrap or similar responsive UI frameworks.
Comfortable working with Python-based backends using Jinja2 templates.
Familiarity with Bash scripts or Jupyter Notebooks for iterative development and deployment tasks.
Able to create quick visual drafts in Figma and turn polished designs into accurate front-end code.
Strong attention to visual detail, transitions, and user interaction.
Understanding of frontend–backend integration and technical feasibility.
A self-managed, hands-on attitude — you take initiative and bring ideas to life.

Vom Design bis zum Code

Du kannst Designkonzepte in funktionale Lösungen umsetzen. Du erstellst hochwertige Grafiken in Figma, konvertierst sie in sauberes HTML/CSS/JavaScript und integrierst sie nahtlos in Jinja-Vorlagen für Python-Anwendungen.

Perfektion im Detail

Du hast ein geschultes Auge für Typografie, Layout, Abstände und Proportionen. Unstimmigkeiten bei Schriftarten, Abständen oder Ausrichtung entgehen dir nicht – sie stören dich wirklich – und du bringst jede Oberfläche in visuelle Harmonie, sowohl auf dem Desktop als auch auf Mobilgeräten.

Sicherer Umgang mit KI-Tools

Du nutzt KI als effizienten Assistenten, um schnell Prototypen zu erstellen, sie an spezifische Anforderungen anzupassen und sie dann von Hand zu Produktionsqualität zu verfeinern. Du weißt, wie du KI effektiv einsetzen kannst, anstatt dich von ihr abhängig zu machen.

Technische Fähigkeiten und Hintergrund

HTML- und CSS-Kenntnisse auf Expertenniveau, einschließlich responsiver Layouts, Barrierefreiheit und pixelgenauer Umsetzung.
Fundierte Kenntnisse in JavaScript (sicherer Umgang, jedoch nicht unbedingt fortgeschritten).
Erfahrung mit PHP in Template-Umgebungen.
Kenntnisse in Bootstrap oder ähnlichen responsiven UI-Frameworks.
Sicherer Umgang mit Python-basierten Backends unter Verwendung von Jinja2-Templates.
Vertrautheit mit Bash-Skripten oder Jupyter Notebooks für iterative Entwicklungs- und Bereitstellungsaufgaben.
Fähigkeit, schnelle visuelle Entwürfe in Figma zu erstellen und ausgefeilte Designs in präzisen Frontend-Code umzusetzen.
